Dionysios Chionis

PhD

Dionysios Chionis is the co-founder of Athlos Energy, the first Greek company dedicated to advancing nuclear energy. With extensive experience in the energy sector, Dionysios also leads the nuclear reactor physics team at Axpo Power AG, Switzerland’s largest utility. His expertise spans reactor physics, nuclear technology, and strategic energy development. He holds a PhD in nuclear physics from EPFL, a Master’s in nuclear engineering from ETH Zurich, and a Mechanical Engineering degree from NTUA.

Ioannis Kourasis

Ioannis is a Chartered Engineer in the UK working as a Principal Nuclear Engineer in CORE POWER. His work focuses on nuclear systems design and safety analysis for Floating Nuclear Power Plants and Nuclear Merchant Ships. On the regulatory side, Ioannis is a representative at the World Nuclear Transport Institute (WNTI) and the Nuclear Energy and Maritime Organization (NEMO), where he serves as Chair of the Nuclear Safety at Sea (NUCSAS) Taskforce. Ioannis holds an MEng in Applied Physics and Mathematics from NTUA, where he is currently undertaking a PhD in Nuclear Engineering.

Antonis, PhD, is a Principal Nuclear Engineer at Westinghouse Electric Company. He specializes in the development of computational methods for reactor physics and multiphysics core analysis, as well as neutron noise monitoring and reactor diagnostics. He has contributed to several international R&D projects and has co-authored technical licensing reports on core analysis methods for national regulatory authorities.

George Laskaris is a nuclear physicist and policy analyst. He holds a PhD in Nuclear Physics from Duke University and has conducted postdoctoral research at Stanford University and MIT. He is the Founder and President of the Deon Policy Institute, focusing on evidence-based energy policy and science-driven public policy.
